London. My very first project. 2006.

The Beginning

I've always been asking myself and others this, oh sold old!, question: what's real and what isn't... if the answer is "nothing", then the next question would be: do we pretend that some things are "real" in order to survive in this civilization? or simply to fool ourselves and to make some sense of this living organism, that we've been thrown into, called "life"..?....
Those are rhetorical questions...with tomes and tomes of discussions...
For now I've decided to play with the visual art, while trying to answer the same damn question... having the digital technologies within my easy reach, I decided to dive into my images and see where they'd take me.. please note: no serious photoshop work has been done to any image, I've only played with colors, contrasts, shadows, highlights and so on. Something that I'd have to spend hours and dollars doing in the lab if I was a true pro...
The idea of looking at any one thing by different people and seeing multiple things at the same time has always fascinated me...the same object can be photographed in a gazillion different ways and, I guess, it still counts to be the "same"...therefore I dare to experiment, with the help of the art of photography, fingers crossed, staying away from making kitsch.

Some images are more daring that the others, but these are only my baby steps...not sure if it will ever grow up to be a toddler..
